Do you run with Sena or PackTalk Comms?2023-10-02T09:32:46-04:00

Yes, No, Sorta, Kinda, Maybe, No Not Really!

There is a mix of Sena and PackTalk users and some of us will ride with comms, some will not, it just depends.  There is no established “official” Comms on an event for general riders.  In general and to save time, it’s recommended that Sena riders join Sena Groups, and PackTalk riders join PackTalk Groups and don’t try to establish bluetooth based comms between the two vendor’s products.  While mixing the products is possible, it reduces the overall range and number of riders while increasing the setup difficulty.

Offline Maps – Prepare for No Cell Service!2023-10-02T09:49:19-04:00

We’ll be traveling in several areas where cell service is “spotty” at best or non-existent.  This means that while your GPS on your phones will still work, you may not have internet access in order to use mapping tools.  Be prepared and have offline-maps pre-downloaded to your phone before venturing out.

What are the Helmet Requirements in the area?2023-10-02T09:14:38-04:00

We recommend all riders wear DOT approved helmets when riding with us.  It is however, your choice, and we have put together a page that outlines the various helmet laws in the surrounding states.

What if the forecast calls for rain?2023-10-06T09:16:14-04:00

Riding in the rain sucks….

We know that… and we don’t ever intentionally make a decision to ride in the rain!  Eastern Kentucky forecasts are only as accurate as an ole’ timers knee that aches when a front comes through.  At the beginning of each ride the ride leader will consult the forecast and make the call to go, or not go based on the radar and the forecast.  Like all magical weather forecasters, we aren’t always right, and sometimes get caught in the rain… when we do, we’ll slow down or pull off and exercise extreme caution.

If it’s going to rain all day…

Trust me, we will still find someway to have fun without playing in the rain.  Don’t cancel your trip! Come on out and get together, have some coffee, enjoy some fellowship, talk about slingshots!  The last 2 summer events had at least 1 rain day each, but we still had a blast anyways!
