What if it Rains?
Always Remember!
- 1
Have your rain gear with you at all times.
- 2
Wear a helmet when raining
- 3
Ride within your comfort zone. IF YOU don’t feel comfortable… stop and wait it out. Only you know your limits.
- 4
Rain comes and goes in this area and can be short lived. A 50% chance of rain means that it may rain for at least 1min anytime during that time period, or it could rain for 5hrs or it may not rain at all!
- 5
Misting Rain – Do you melt? We ride!
- 6
Light Rain – Put on your Rain Gear! We ride! The ride leader will pull over at the next safe location to allow you to don rain gear.
- 7
Moderate Rain – If you need someone to wipe your visor while driving…that’s a moderate rain! The ride leader will pull over at the next safe location to allow you to don rain gear. Depending on location and situation, they may pause the ride, adjust the route or return to Big Stone Gap
- 8
Heavy Rain – If the ride leader pulls over and puts on a life jacket… you probably want to as well! The ride leader will pull over at the next safe location to allow you to don rain gear. Depending on location and situation, they may pause the ride, adjust the route or return to Big Stone Gap.
